Who needs a Food Manager Certification in Minnesota?

All food facilities that prepare, handle, or serve unpackaged foods are required to have at least one Certified Food Manager (CFM) or Person in Charge, either an owner or an employee, who has successfully passed an approved and accredited food safety certification examination. The certification is valid for five (5) years from the date of original issuance.

Can the Food Manager exam be taken online?

Yes! To earn a MINNESOTA Food Manager Certification, you must take an online exam with a live proctor.

How do I schedule the proctored exam?

After the course has been completed, you will have the option to schedule your exam online.

How long is the proctored exam?

The test is up to 90 questions, and requires 750/1000 points. It is highly recommended that you complete the online course and practice test, prior to taking the exam.

How do I study for the final exam?

To study for the exam, we recommend purchasing the Certification Package. This includes the Online Food Manager Training Course and Unlimited Practice Exams.

The course takes approximately 8 Hours to complete. You can start and stop as needed.

If you have purchased the Certification Package with the training course, you have the option of taking the Practice Test to prepare for your Proctored Exam. You can take the Practice Test as many times as desired.
